Chapter 2 Fateful Encounter

Olivia was lying alone on the sofa at home, with a piece of gauze wrapped around her right knee. The white gauze still had some red blood stains faintly revealed. The clock in the living room was ticking, and other than that Olivia could only hear her own breathing. She lay flat on her back, staring at the ceiling, not wanting to move.
In her mind, she had flashbacks of today's sprint on the track countless times. Just a little bit, just a little bit she would still be the champion. But she lost, and Olivia couldn't accept this fact. What makes her even more unbelievable is that the person who won the first place was actually Jane. In Olivia's previous knowledge, Jane had no sense of existence at all, and was not even considered a rival in her mind. So Olivia doesn't have a particularly deep understanding of Jane, she just knows her name.
The sunlight inside the house gradually faded, and night fell soon. Olivia came back to her senses, raised her head slightly and looked out the window. Her father had not come back yet. Originally, her father, Anderson, had made an agreement with her to go home today. But there was no news until now, and Olivia only heard the sound of the clock.
Anderson is a salesman and operator of sports equipment and facilities. College and high school campuses are his main targets. Because he often travels for business, he and his daughter cannot see each other every day. So every time he came home from a business trip, he would bring some small gifts to Olivia to express his apology for his daughter.
"Waiting for father" has become a very important thing in Olivia's daily life. Not only for the gifts her father brought her, but also for the meticulous care and protection her father showed when he was by her side. Especially today, Olivia is particularly vulnerable.
Olivia turned over and got off the sofa, carefully moved her injured right leg, and moved towards the table step by step. Suddenly, her leg tripped on something soft, almost causing her to fall. It was almost dark at this time, and Olivia couldn't see clearly what it was. She bent down and discovered that it was a sports vest that she had taken off.
Olivia thought about the scene of this morning's game again, "If this sports vest hadn't been uncomfortable to wear and affected the rhythm of the game, it would have been impossible to lose." Thinking of this, Olivia became furious and raised her right leg to kick the sports vest away hard. But after the kick, she immediately regretted it. The huge pain spread from her right knee to her whole body, causing her to cry out in pain.
Olivia held on to the table, breathing heavily. She stretched her hand tremblingly to the table, picked up her phone, and saw the message her father had just sent her. Anderson encountered some problems during his business trip, which extended his work schedule for two days, and he cannot go home today. Olivia saw the message and felt that the pain in her body was getting worse. She had no appetite for dinner and just wanted to lie down.
Thinking of today's frustration and looking at this dark and silent room, tears kept rolling in Olivia's eyes. She turned around and walked towards her room, when she suddenly felt her body being illuminated by a strong light. When she turned around, she realized that the headlights of a car outside penetrated the window. Olivia was very surprised and wanted to open the door, and quickly walked towards the door regardless of the pain in her legs.
Opening the door, a car parked on the side of the road. A man and a woman got out of the car, took out the key and unlocked the door of the house opposite. Olivia was extremely disappointed and was about to turn around. A little girl got out of the back seat of the car. She looked about 15 or 16 years old, about the same age as Olivia. She was holding some boxes in her hands and was moving things into her new home.
The eyes of the two girls met exactly at this moment. However, both of them were stunned and looked directly at each other. The reason why Olivia was stunned was because she saw an extremely beautiful face. The reason why that beautiful face was stunned was because she saw a person with blood flowing from knees to feet staring at her. She thinks the scene was a bit weird and funny.
